Meet Broadway Wiz Bright Star, Annie from Harrisburg, PA.
Annie is a big fan of Jeremy Stolle and she’s also made friends online through her love of Phantom!
On average, how many Broadway or Off-Broadway shows do you see a year?
How many local shows or community theater shows do you see a year?
Favorite Broadway show:
All-time favorite performer:
Songs you like to belt in the shower:
“Carrie” from Carrie, “Burn” from Hamilton and “96,000” from In the Heights
Favorite piece of theater memorabilia you own:
Phantom of the Opera window card signed by Jeremy Hays and Kaley Voorhies
Most memorable performance you’ve ever seen:
Norm Lewis as the Phantom. I was so excited to see a person of color play one of my favourite roles.
Best interaction you have had with another theater fan:
I couple years ago I started talking to another Phantom fan named Tam on tumblr, and now we are good friends.
Why do you love theater?
Theatre has truly saved my life. When I was younger I had some very scary moments. It was theatre that showed me acceptance and love. I look up to many performers and I hope one day I too, can be a role model for the next generation.
Christine Daaé – Phantom
Eliza Hamilton – Hamilton
Elphaba – Wicked
Elle Woods – Legally Blonde
Best stagedoor or backstage experience?
Seeing Kaley Voorhees at the stagedoor of Phantom was amazing. It was wonderful that she remembered me since it had been a year that we had seen each other.
Favorite spots in NYC:
Schmackary’s, Central Park, and Chinatown
If you could sing a duet or perform a scene with any Broadway star, who would it be?
I will sing with any Broadway star
Did you ever fangirl when you met an actor/performer?:
When I first met Jeremy Stolle I fangirled so hard. It was my best friend’s first time seeing a Broadway show and she was a fan of him too. The best part was that he knew who we were.
Favorite thing about Broadway Wiz?
Interviews are my favourite thing, I love finding out about new and upcoming stars and the seasoned veterans
What would your super power be?
Besides theater, what are some of your other passions or hobbies?
I love to sew and dance. I also enjoy watching anime while drafting patterns.
Anything else you would like to share? Funny stories, weird facts about yourself, cool talents?
Fun random slightly Broadway-related fact: A couple summers ago, Dave Malloy wrote a show for a company I do shows with (shout out to YMTC!) about a high school dance-a-thon. It was strange and exciting and he’s the coolest, nicest guy. Hi Dave!
