Why I Love Summer Thursdays

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is pack a picnic lunch on Thursdays and head to Bryant Park. I go to See Broadway and Off Broadway shows perform hour-long concerts with cast members from all the current greatest shows. I never missed a Thursday last year. My favorite performances from pervious years have been Rocky, Finding Neverland, Dames at Sea, Something Rotten and Spring Awakening . It’s a PR event, so they sing songs from their shows and dance and even pose for pictures after. If you get there early enough you might even score some of their free promotional items!. I like going early so I can actually get a chair and sit close to the stage, and of course to see what free stuff they give out that day. Two years ago I got a sailor hat from On the Town, a Heathers tote bag, pre-printed waving fans and more. They also have contests to win tickets to shows. I haven’t won yet, but maybe this year will be my lucky year!
